Dr. Niveditha Menon
About:
Director, Centre for Budget & Policy StudiesNiveditha has been associated with CBPS since 2015, as a Senior Research Advisor, Deputy Director, and now Director. With more than two decades of research experience in diverse areas, her specialisation in gender has allowed her to explore issues related to gender violence, sexuality, education, masculinity, and the empowerment of women. She has also worked in the areas of governance, education, and information technologies. Recently, she has started working more deeply in the areas of public spaces and gender-responsive budgeting. She has a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University in Sociology and Demography with a minor in Women’s Studies. She completed her master’s degree at Pennsylvania State University and her undergraduate degrees at Rutgers University (USA) and St. Francis College (Osmania University, Hyderabad). Prior to CBPS, she has also worked at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bangalore, the Centre for Study of Science, Technology, and Policy (CSTEP), Greenpeace, and IT for Change.
