Known for connecting with her audiences and switching between 5 languages with ease, Vasanthi has won accolades that include the Radio Excellence Award for being India's English RJ of the Year in 2007, Rotary Vocational Excellence Award in 2013 as well as the UNFPA-backed Laadli Award twice, one of which for Gender Sensitivity in Journalism 2020 for her reportage on women's unheard voices from her travels across Karnataka for the Assembly Elections. Vasanthi was twice invited by the US Consulate, Chennai to be mentor on board a '6-month mentorship program for youth between 18-25 years of age to develop workplace skills and build leadership capacities'.
